When you think of your vacation in Miami, three things come to mind: sun, sand, and sea (and maybe a little bit of food, partying and shopping. So what if the weather turns? Don’t despair. From skydiving to basketball games, you won’t be short of things to do on a rainy day in Miami.
CATCH A HEAT GAME
Miami locals are very proud of their basketball team, so when there’s a home game, it’s big. There’ll be mascots, cheerleaders and, of course, some killer basketball. Bring your best team spirit, grab a burger, and join in!
Always wanted to know how skydiving feels? iFly has an indoor flight chamber that hurls you into the air and simulates the feeling of free falling. Including pre-flight training, the experience lasts around two hours.
What better way to spend a rainy day than eating popcorn, drinking a larger than life Coca-Cola and watching the latest blockbusters on a huge IMAX screen? If you feel like going all out, go for one of their 3D screenings.
We’ve mentioned this one before in our family activity ideas, but we’ll mention it again as it’s a great option for rainy days too. Sky Zone is a wall-to-ceiling trampoline park, offering anything from trampoline dodgeball and jousting to bouncing basketball, foam pits, and assault courses.
SHOP TILL YOU DROP
If you needed an excuse to do some shopping, this is your chance. There are plenty of indoor shopping malls in Miami to keep you busy. Dolphin Mall, Sawgrass mall ( FL ) and Aventura Mall are all a great option, offering high street and designer brands, as well as delicious eateries for when you get hungry.
